Because I always design my products with the needs and desires of you in mind, I always love hearing how satisfied you are with them. Just recently I heard the following good news from @destinedforgreatness_26 on Instagram:

I used the Bamboo & Coconut Milk Growth Oil before getting my braids, and I must say it made my hair feel moisturized and left it smelling good…Love this product line…

We are also feeling the love on Facebook where Sheree Willis wrote:

"Her products are by far the best. Every time I use another product, I am greatly disappointed and run back to Taliah Waajid. ALL of her products work fabulous in my hair. I'm never disappointed. I love the way my hair feels and the scent is perfect. Never heavy nor weighted down. My curls are perfect. My twists outs are perfect. Love! Love! Love!"

The Thick of It: A Natural Hair Journey

Posted by Sheronda Gipson on Feb 28, 2018 11:01:30 AM

It all began because of a chemical burn from a home perm. The year was 1996. Up until then, I’d considered myself quite the kitchen beautician, purchasing box perms to do my own hair since college. In those lean college times, I couldn’t afford to go to the hair dresser, I’d go to Wal-Mart, pick up a relaxer kit, go back to the dorm and proceed to slather the white, noxious, cream on the base of my hair, careful not to get any, or at least not too much on my scalp or cover the entire shaft of my hair. After college, I continued this practice, when my coins were a little short.

But the last time was different.

Don’t Throw That Wig: How to Protect Your Wakandan Crown Under Your Wig Cap

Posted by Tonesa Jones on Feb 28, 2018 10:32:01 AM

Black Panther introduced many never-before-seen black moments to the big screen, but no moment achieved peak blackness than Okoye (played by the fabulous Danai Gurira) using a lace front as a weapon, a skill that should be added to the venerable list of black hair versatility.

Whether used as a quick style change to protect your tresses or an impromptu defensive weapon, wigs can be a healthy part of your hair regimen, but just like any protective style, maintaining your real hair under your wigs is important.

How to Breathe Life Into Your Curls Using Curly Curl Cream

Posted by Karon Leslie on Feb 28, 2018 10:09:14 AM

So, it happened to me on a Friday night. While hanging out with a few friends in a local restaurant, I was approached by a woman who graciously informed me that my curls were “popping.”

Now for all my 3c to 4c girls, you know this was likely a pivotal moment in my life, so much so that I immediately began raving to my friends about Curly Curl Cream in all of its curl-popping splendor. Just a few months prior, I was perusing the aisles of my second home, Target, when I stumbled upon this blessing. Since then, Curly Curl Cream has been adding all kinds of bounce and bravado to my curls, and the compliments have been nonstop.

What is the Apple of My Eye? The Answer is You.

Posted by NI4TW on Feb 16, 2018 5:34:26 AM

This week we celebrated the various apples of our eyes—or our most cherished someone(s) —in observation of St. Valentine’s Day with heartfelt greeting cards, flowers, candy , teddy bears and dazzling dates out on the town or special evenings indoors. We usually think of Valentine’s Day as a celebration of romantic love but that doesn’t stop us from expressing love on the 14th for our family, friends and community.

For me, my community is very much the apple of my eye. And it’s this love for my community that constantly inspires to me to continue to innovate as I grow and build products in service of those who have naturally coily, curly, wavy and kinky hair. The way I feel about my community can best be described in this special kind of love poem written by the classic African American poet Marvin Wyche Jr.

5 Key Tips to Keep Your Hair Rockin' While You Work Out

Posted by NI4TW on Jan 5, 2018 3:25:33 PM

The first week of 2018 is over and I’m sure you’ve been hitting the gym like clockwork to work on that New Year’s resolution of healthier eating and exercise…or something like that. I'm definitely guilty of hot starts and cold finishes, so just remember to pace yourself and take your time. Focus more on a healthy lifestyle change instead of that diet or gym routine because you may fall off, and that’s okay. I totally understand how adapting to a new fitness routine can have its challenges but I’m here to tell you that your hair doesn’t have to be one of them. Don’t avoid being your best self just because you’re afraid your ‘do won’t hold up. Here are five tips to keep your hair looking right while you work on the rest.

Natural, Texlaxed or Relaxed Hair? Achieving the Healthiest Possible Hair in Any Case

Posted by NI4TW on Oct 27, 2017 9:57:30 AM

As a child growing up in Harlem, I remember how everyone had relaxed hair except me. I wanted relaxed hair too but my mother would not allow it. And that’s how I came to know about natural hair; I had to teach myself how to comb, manage and style my hair in its natural state. Later on, I did relax my hair but I decided to wear my hair naturally. Natural just worked better for me. My natural hair choice was never politically motivated; it was simply a styling preference.
