With plenty of women embracing their natural coils, curls and kinks, some men are learning to make adjustments too. They have their preferences, but there are ways to help them understand, and even love, your hair as much as you do.
Share Why You Did It
Men don’t dwell on hair as much as we do, but they can learn more about you as person through learning why you decided to embrace your curls. Some do it simply for a change, but other women see it as a journey. Let him join in on it some by discussing your concerns and setbacks while finding the styles and products that work best for you. In some cases he may even want to help you shampoo or twist your hair. It can be a bonding moment, along with a learning experience.
Give Him Time
We don’t always love our curls instantly, so let him adapt as well. If you did the big chop then that is a big change for him also. Watching you take care of your hair and try new styles just may make him see you as an even more beautiful person. Be fair; let him adjust at his own pace. There may not even be a need for him too, but you never know until you do it. Plus with Taliah Waajid and Uncle Jimmy products he can join in on finding healthier ways to care for his hair and skin.
He Doesn’t Have To Love It
Quite a few men seem to prefer natural hair over weaves, but they still have a right to not love the way you wear your hair. As long as they are respectful and still remind you that you are beautiful regardless, then it is perfectly fine.
